Ronda Train Station has a timeless air about it. The arrivals board showed five trains arriving during the day. There are are daily train connections from the nearest stations Algeciras, Seville, Granada and the Maria Zambrano train station in Málaga. The tracks were deserted at midday, only the security guard and a Ronda local stood on the platform chatting.

Sliding doors protect waiting passengers from the extreme heat and cold of the sierras around the city. The facilities are clean and modern. Travel one way along the tracks and you´ll get to the capital Madrid, go the other way and you´ll wind your way down to Algeciras and the Atlantic ocean. Take a few hours off if you are travelling through and explore the historic city of Ronda

The Avenida de Andalucia runs past the Ronda train station. When you come out of the train station turn right and walk 400metres and you will come to the Ronda Bus Station. Continue past the bus station straight into Calle San José for another four blocks turn left and you are in Avda Jeréz linking the bull ring, the Ronda Tourist Information Office, the Tajo gorge and La Ciudad on the other side of the river. These three beautiful Mediterranean pines stand in front of the train station.

If you are staying on the Costa del Sol and would like to experience Ronda, arriving at the Ronda train station then two ways to get here by rail would be from Malaga train station or from Los Barrios just between San Roque behind Gibraltar and Algeciras.
How to get to Ronda train station from Málaga You can reach Malaga train station can be reached by train from multiple train stops between Fuengirola and Málaga. If you are taking the train from Fuengirola you can buy your ticket all the way through to Ronda although you will change trains in Málaga. If it is more convenient to start your train journey in Málaga, you can take one of the Costa del Sol buses to Malaga. The Malaga bus station is right next to Malaga train station.
How to get to Ronda train station from Los Barrios. Take any of the Costa del Sol bus services heading for Algeciras from where you are staying on thel because you will be getting off at the stop before Algeciras which is Los Barrios. Enjoy a memorable journey on this unique track which is destined to become a freight only line to and from Ronda train station and beyond. Make the trip before the line closes to rail passengers! Take the train back from Ronda train station to your starting out point through Málaga. Connection times are convenient and you will have a great day out. A great day out by rail from Ronda Train Station If you are staying in Ronda and fancy a day out in the sierras, then take a 20 minute train ride from Ronda train station down to Benaojan Montejaque which is one of the small country stations on the Ronda train station to Los Barrios line described above. You will step right back into the past and into the heart of rural Andalucia when you get off at this stop. Take a picnic lunch and walk along one of the well marked hiking paths up or down the Genal river or simply have lunch next to the rushing stream at Hotel Molina del Santo.
