Many of these hostels are in the old town of Marbella, they are mostly simple, clean and have real charm and character.   Booking is best done in the morning. At most other times the cousin or brother-in-law may be on phone or door duty and will probably not be able to accept a definite booking. Normally a deposit equal to one night's stay is accepted. Occupancy normally drops after the 15th of September following the summer. At peak times in summer you probably will not need to give a deposit if you arrive before midday because if you don't show up, your room will be let very easily to a passing tourist.
